SUMMER BBQ
On Saturday 9th September 2023, fifty-five people enjoyed a wonderful BBQ in the spacious church car park. The sun was shining bright, but thankfully there was plenty of shade to sit in and enjoy burgers, sausages, salads, cakes, and soft drinks.
The children played with toys and games, whilst the adults enjoyed catching up and meeting new people.
A good time was certainly had by all - bring on next summer!
Holiday at Home 2023
In July 2023, Backwell and Nailsea Baptist once again hosted Holiday at Home. Over forty guests once again enjoyed games, drama, food and good company over three fun-filled days.
One guest commented "The food was great and the company was good. The volunteers were extremely helpful!" Another guest commented, "It was very well organised and from the minute we arrived we were made to feel welcome."
Like last year, we took our guests on a trip, which everyone enjoyed. One guest commented, "We went for a cream tea, which was lovely".
Guests and volunteers are already looking forward to Holiday at Home 2024!
Baptism
On 11th September 2022, we were very excited that Molly Jefferies decided to take the plunge and get baptised! This meant that it was time to open the baptistry and get the water heated once again.
It was great to have Molly’s friends and family with us and to share a buffet lunch after the service.
Holiday at Home 2022
In June 2022, Backwell and Nailsea Baptist churches hosted their first ever joint Holiday at Home. Three fun-filled days were on offer for those who are unable to holiday due to age or health limitations.
The guests enjoyed games, quizzes, delicious food, a cinema experience and a day trip to Wells with a cream tea.
It was such a success that plans are already being made for Holiday at Home 2023!

Jubilee Celebrations
We had a great time joining our local community to celebrate the Jubilee weekend earlier this year. We ran a stall for the afternoon on Backwell playing fields, which included nerf-guns, bowling, giant snakes and ladders, marble run and much more.
Over 200 prizes were won and a very large bucket of sweets soon disappeared.
